Areas we serve

Training and field services where your crews work.

Central Mississippi runs on sand, gravel, and clay, and the crews working those pits answer to the same federal MSHA training rules as any mine in the country. We deliver both parts, so a sand pit and a contractor crew can be trained in the same week without shopping for two vendors.

Jackson area mining centers on sand and gravel pits along the Pearl River and its tributaries, clay and shale for brick and lightweight aggregate, and crushed limestone operations farther west near Vicksburg. Surface sand, gravel, and stone operations are Part 46, where new miners need 24 hours, experienced miners need 8, and everyone needs an 8-hour annual refresher. Underground work and non-Part 46 mineral operations fall under Part 48.

We come to you

Every service on this page travels. We teach classes in your shop, trailer, or pit parking lot in Jackson, write plans from your own records, and perform evaluations on your equipment. Travel is quoted up front, with no per-mile surprise on the invoice.

Live instructor-led, never computer-based

When you train online, an MSHA instructor teaches the class live on camera in real time. There are no self-paced modules, recorded videos, or slideshow quizzes, and miners can ask questions and get answers the same day.

Operations we train in Jackson

  • Sand and gravel pits and dredging operations

How classes run

We train crews across Hinds, Rankin, Madison, Warren, Copiah, Simpson, and Yazoo counties. Live online classes run on Central time, and on-site dates are available at your pit or at a nearby training room.

Live online classes are taught in real time by an MSHA instructor, never as a self-paced computer-based course, and require a computer, webcam, and valid photo ID. Every miner leaves with a certificate and a 5000-23 form filed to your training records.
