8-hour annual refresher · Part 46 & Part 48

MSHA Annual Refresher Training

Every miner owes an 8-hour refresher once a year. Part 46 and Part 48 refreshers run live online on Fridays, and the underground refresher is taught in person at your mine.

02

Who it is for

  • Surface miners due for their Part 46 annual refresher
  • Coal, metal, and nonmetal miners due for Part 48
  • Underground crews who need the in-person refresher
  • An operator keeping a crew compliant on a fixed yearly schedule

03

How it runs

  • 8 hours, one day — refresher classes run on a Friday
  • Underground refresher is in person at your mine, ten miner minimum
  • A class needs eight miners to run at the listed rate
  • A short class can be held on the last Friday of the month so nobody falls out of compliance

04

What you get

  • An MSHA Form 5000-23 certificate of training for every miner in the class
  • A roster with the dates, hours, and subjects actually delivered
  • The record kept in your account, printable or downloadable for an inspection
  • Group classes documented per miner, not as one crew line
